Fungal Eye Infection Outbreak
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has been investigating an outbreak of eye infections caused by a fungus called Fusarium keratitis. These fungal infections can cause permanent loss of sight.
Symptoms of Fusarium keratitits
According to the American Academy of Ophthamology, the symptoms of Fusarium keratitis include the following:
Sudden blurry vision
Unusual redness of the eye
Pain in your eye
Excessive tearing and discharge from your eye
Increased light sensitivity
