Associated Press - May 24, 2007 10:54 AM ET EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (AP) - A Madison County judge has given final approval to a $$64 million settlement of a class-action lawsuit involving Glaxo-Smith-Kline's anti-depressant Paxil. Under the revised deal, parents with records or receipts showing that they bought Paxil and Paxil CR for their children can be reimbursed for their out-of-pocket expenses. Parents without proof of purchase, can get up to $$100 refunded by signing a claim form under penalty of perjury. Those claim forms must be filed by August 31st and are available online at WWW.Paxil pediatric settlement.com. In settling the 2004 lawsuit, Glaxo-Smith-Kline denied claims it promoted the drug to children while withholding information about negative side effects. Associate Judge Ralph Mendelsohn signed off on the settlement last week in Edwardsville.
