A female passenger injured last Thursday in a wreck about a mile north of Cameron has died. It is the second traffic fatality on Milam County roads this year. Rachel Forbus, 19, of Meridian, Idaho, died Tuesday morning at Scott and White Hospital in Temple from the injuries she suffered in a one-vehicle rollover Thursday afternoon about 5:20 approximately 1.3 miles north of the Cameron city limits on U.S. Highway 77. Department of Public Safety reports listed that Forbus was the passenger in a late model Toyota Camry driven by Tiffany Finley, also 19, of Goodlettsville, Tenn. Finley refused treatment at the scene. Authorities said they believe that Finley fell asleep behind the wheel as she was heading northbound on the highway. The car left the east side of the roadway and struck a tree with the passenger side, leaving no skid marks behind before the impact, according to DPS reports. Forbus was airlifted by StatAir to Scott and White with severe injuries. She was pronounced dead at approximately 10:10 a.m. Tuesday morning according to a Bell County Justice of the Peace. The initial call came to the Cameron Volunteer Fire Department that the vehicle was on fire and passengers were trapped inside. The two women were pulled out of the vehicle by passersby on the scene. The CVFD did extinguish the blaze once on scene. DPS trooper Mark Berry investigated the accident. An American Medical Response ambulance also responded to the accident.
